SOOW Cord (600V Portable Power Cable)
SOOW flexible cord combines stranded copper conductors with rubber insulation and an outer jacket for extra-hard-usage power applications. The 600V cord designation supports industrial tools, portable machinery, motor leads and stage equipment. The OO designation identifies oil-resistant insulation and jacket, while the W designation identifies suitability for the weather or water exposure covered by its listing. Different conductor counts and sizes help match the cord to the electrical load and connection hardware. Temperature limits, minimum bend radius and any additional environmental approvals follow the selected manufacturer construction.
SOOW Cord Specifications by Size
SOOW is stocked from 18 AWG through 2 AWG in 2 to 50 conductors, cut to length. Ampacity is per NEC Table 400.5(A)(1) at 30°C; see the SOOW cord ampacity chart for the adjustment factors when more than three conductors carry current.

CCC = current-carrying conductors. A 120V tool cord (hot + neutral + ground) is 2 CCC; a three-phase motor lead (three hots + ground) is 3 CCC. Shielded, yellow-jacket, and European color-code constructions are also stocked in select sizes; ask when you request a quote.
