Type NM-B

Type NM-B nonmetallic-sheathed cable combines insulated bare copper circuit conductors and a bare grounding conductor within a PVC outer jacket for branch-circuit wiring in permitted dry locations. PVC insulation with a nylon covering provides a 600V construction for residential lighting, receptacles and compatible equipment circuits. The conductor insulation is rated 90°C, while NM-B circuit ampacity is limited to the 60°C conductor basis, subject to applicable installation requirements. Select the conductor size, insulated-conductor count and grounding arrangement to match the circuit design; the individual insulated wires are not separately listed THHN conductors.
